Description
Tobacco pipe in Ebony, with graphite bowl and black ebonite stem.
The Frankenpipe has a little history. It is a Pot type pipe with a “scar” carving on the front of the bowl to eliminate a small defect in the wood (encrusted silica grains) which could have damaged its integrity. This “scar” is closed by silver-plated metal clasps which blacken as they oxidize, supporting the black and “patched-up” side of the object, which gave the origin of its name.
The high quality graphite that I use as a sheath for the bowl of my pipes, protects the wood from heat and resists over 1800°. Therefore, due to this chemical neutrality and, without any combustion, it gives no taste and completely preserves the flavor of your tobacco.
